PURPOSE Under general supervision, drives an industrial forklift truck equipped to move parts, products, equipment or materials in a warehouse, storage, factory or yard environment; completes projects involving standard loads. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Drives an industrial forklift truck equipped to load, unload, lift, stack or move products, parts, equipment or materials in a warehouse, storage shed factory or storage yard. 2. Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. 3. Other duties may be assigned. COMPETENCIES · Knowledge of safety procedures while performing forklift driving and materials handling tasks · Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions · Ability to count items and verify against prepared lists MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS High school degree or General Education Degree (GED) and six months experience with performing these or similar tasks; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires OSHA Forklift Certification.
